The smiling faces of students and parents greeted the teachers on August 14, the first day of school! New students were excited to see their classrooms and meet their teachers. Returning students were happy to see their friends. The 2008-2009 school year promises to be special!

An assembly kicked off the Entertainment/Sally Foster sale on the second day of school. Middle school students joined middle school teacher, Jonathan Shames, dressed as packages for a parade through the cheering students. Proceeds from the sale of Entertainment Books and Sally Foster gift products benefit The Bodine School Technology Fund.

The Bodine Parent Organization hosted a brunch for the staff and faculty during teacher preservice on August 13. The cafeteria was transformed into a beautiful cafe, and everyone enjoyed the delicious food. Thanks, BPO!

Bodine book club members: Karen Blakley, Julie Falvey, Cheryl Riddick, Janice McTyier, and Rene Lee visited the home of William Faulkner, Rowan Oak, in Oxford, MS in July. The group read "As I Lay Dying" as their summer book selection. Their next selection is "The Alchemist" by Paul Coelho.
