Middle School Dramatic Presentation
The Middle School worked with Theatre Memphis’ Showagon to put together a dramatic presentation, which was performed on Wednesday, March 4. The presentation was created and directed by Marques Brown, although students created most of the original text used to create the script.
The production was performed for parents, and plans are in the works to present the show for the entire School before the end of this year!

1st Grade Book Report
First grade is really reading. In class we read the book Bones by Stephen Krensky. We learned a lot of information about the bones in our bodies and also about animal bones. Together we used a web to plan our book report and then used our web to write the book report. We are becoming a classroom of readers and writers!
1st Grade Art
The first graders made masks in Art using paper pulp. The students used their imaginations to create interesting characters. After they made the masks, they picked out a story and acted out a play. They chose the Japanese story The Dream Eater. Everyone had fun and enjoyed performing the play. The masks are very creative and colorful.

Our top five money-raisers were Karly C., Jonathan L., Jack W., Jackson, T., and Eli, R.. These five students went to visit the Pavilion and Danny Thomas Museum at St. Jude, and then had lunch at the Arcade downtown last Thursday, March 19th. Thanks for all of your support!

3rd Grade Dinosaur Unit
Third graders have been learning about dinosaurs and fossils. First they read books and did research on websites. Then they each chose a dinosaur, wrote a report, and did some type of visual presentation. Many students made dioramas, while others designed posters. Jonathan’s was dinomite!
To finish off the dinosaur learning, the whole third grade went to the Pink Palace. We had our own dinosaur expert explain types of fossils. Then everyone got to dig for fossils and examine them like palentologists. Mary and Erica touched a real triceratops leg bone! Ms. Assel’s class was amazed at the size of the skeletons!
