Hummingbird Festival
Third graders enjoyed many wild-life adventures at the Hummingbird Festival. David, Eric, and Billy all got to hold and release hummingbirds!
Everyone enjoyed the “Bat Man” who had real bats of all sizes, especially a large fruit bat that looked like a dog with wings. Many students were impressed with the Snakes of the Mid-south presentation. Most of us had never seen a live rattlesnake before. Students also got to see hawks, owls, and opossums at the Wildlife Conservation exhibit.

Mr. Shames in The Sound of Music at Theatre Memphis
Our very own Mr. Shames is currently in Theatre Memphis' Sound of Music! He plays the part of Franz, the butler, who ends up betraying Captain von Trapp in the end. Mr. Shames used to do a lot of theater in college, but this is his first stage appearance, other than church, in 25 years. We are so proud of Mr. Shames, and we hope everyone will go see him at the theater!
The play runs now through September 20th.
Jim Jaggers Visits Ms. Shaw's Class
Ms. Shaw’s class recently finished up a unit on weather with a visit from Jim Jaggers. Mr. Jaggers talked to the class about what to do and how to stay safe during a tornado. The class really liked hearing from Mr. Jaggers and appreciated the time he spent with us!
