Celebrating Dr. Seuss

On Tuesday, March 2, we celebrated Dr. Seuss’s Birthday at Bodine. After lower school lunch, everyone gathered in the multipurpose room. We recited a Read Across America reader’s oath. Mrs. Cameron and Caleb B. performed a Green Eggs and Ham skit, and everyone cheered Mrs. Cameron on as she sampled real green eggs and ham. Mrs. McDonald read the Dr. Seuss book The Thinks You Can Think. Everyone enjoyed eating the delicious sheet cake decorated with a picture of the Cat in the Hat.

On Friday March 5, the gentle giant golden retrievers from Paws for Reading, Tank and Cooper, were in the Bodine Library. Students all got a chance to come in and sit with the dogs, listen to a story, and visit with the beautiful dogs.

All during the month of March we will continue to honor Dr. Seuss and his dedication to enjoyable children’s literature. In library we will play Seuss games and focus on reading more Seuss stories aloud. Each week there will be a new Seuss trivia question , and two winners each week will win a book. Middle school students will read to 1st and 2nd graders the week of March 22-25.
