100th Day of School

1st and 2nd grade students celebrated the 100th day of school recently.  1st graders made pennants to celebrate that they are 100 days smarter, made of book with 100 stickers, created a list of 100 words they know, and made a snack using 10 different treats and grouping them in groups of ten.  It was a fun day!

Before School Fun

Jacob, Grade 5 and Weston, Grade 1 enjoy a game a chess in the morning before school starts.   Students gather in the multipurpose room before school and students from different grade levels enjoy playing games together.

6th Grade Literature

After reading the stories “The Dog of Pompeii,” “Tutankhamen” from Lost Worlds, and “The First Emperor” from The Tomb Robbers, sixth graders wrote a brief, researched paragraph, acrostic and diamante poems, and created cartoon strips from the stories.




3rd Grade Science Lab

These third graders are actually doing comparative anatomy.  Since they were studying dinosaurs in class they learned the names of the major dinosaur bones in lab.  Then, the students were surprised to learn that they had the exact same bones.  Not only did they label a printed human skeleton, they labeled their own skeletons on their own bodies! Each number on their body matches the correct name of the corresponding bone.

Box Top Celebration

On Thursday, January 6th, the Middle School girls were treated to a video and ice cream party in the Library.  The Middle School girls collected the most boxtops this fall and won the competition.  Parent sponsor, Mrs. Heather Bryant provided ice cream, toppings, and all the trimmings.

4th Grade Math

4th graders practiced their measuring skills by using twine and a yardstick to calculate the length of classroom pet, Monty the ball python.
