Historical Halloween

Everyone was decked out for Historical Halloween on October 31st! The students spent two weeks researching, memorizing, and rehearsing their speeches depicting the lives of the historical figures they portrayed. In addition to learning about their own character, the students also learned many interesting facts from the other students. Several of the figures were famous, not only for their accomplishments, but also for overcoming the obstacle of dyslexia – just like the students who portrayed them. Several students included realistic or authentic props to add to their performance. All students were judged on different aspects of their presentation and awarded prizes from Ultimate Pizza, Putt-Putt Golf, and Ben & Jerry's. The crowd was quite impressed by the costumes, speeches, and performances! After the presentations, the Middle School students provided carnival-style learning games with candy prizes for the elementary students. A special thanks to Ms. Erb, who arranged the cookies and apple juice for all who attended. What a great day we had!
